Key themes that came out from the day included how to successfully expand internationally, the growth and change of online and mobile presence and the importance of being able to offer your customer the ability to shop how they want to shop.
These messages were echoed through various workshops and presentations through out the expo. The day started with a key note from Mark Lewis Online Director of John Lewis who told us that the way we shop is set to change more in the next 5 years than anything we’ve seen so far. Looking ahead, he said delivery, data and changing customer behaviour would drive change in the business. The final key note speaker Andy Harding Executive Director, Multi Channel from House of Fraser explained how the department store had rebuilt its online business by putting responsive, mobile design first.
